  Swallowtail.*    Papilio machaon britannicus Seitz, 1907
A single female remained until 10/08/89 and was seen ovipositing on Angelica
 (Angelica sylvestris) where the larvae hatched. No further development noted.
SATYRIDAE:     
  Speckled Wood.   Pararge aegeria (Linnaeus, 1758)
First observed 1990 during Norfolk Naturalists' Trust (Norfolk Wildlife Trust) excursion.
  Wall.                    Lasiommata megera (Linnaeus, 1767)
Decreasing resident.
  Grayling.         Hipparchia semele (Linnaeus, 1758)
From a first sighting in 1989 a small colony established and remained until 2000.
Single female reported 25/08/2005.

Common resident.
  Gatekeeper.                  Pyronia tithonus (Linnaeus, 1771)
05/08/99 Scaleless variety. Common resident.

Former resident reduced to rare single observations.

Vagrant from coastal colonies.

A single report the day after the release of 15 bred specimens was the only sighting.
  [Marsh Fritillary] Eurodryas aurinia Rottemburg, 1775
Release of 20 bred specimens. At least one was successfully bred and was seen 2003.
A further 40 were released in central mire and 10 in back bog 05/06/03
None were reported during 2004.

Formerly present to 1970's, singles 1992 and 1997.
  Essex Skipper Thymelicus lineola (Ochsenheimer, 1808)
First confirmed report was a female in 1997. Resident in small colonies.

Resident in small stable colonies.
  Large Skipper.                     Ochlodes faunus (Turati, 1905)
